Some years ago, I found a man in the Personal Development space named Jim Rohn, a famous speaker and author. I never heard Mr. Rohn officially identify himself as a Christian or lead with that label. At most, I heard him claim to be an “amateur at the Bible”. However Mr. Rohn did talk about Jesus in his speeches and gave examples of how to apply Jesus’ teachings in life. He also mentions other Biblical stories as well.
The difference between Mr. Rohn’s teachings and most churches is that he emphasizes putting in work and taking action in order to get miracles and answered prayers. Works plus Prayer. Many churches are teaching the exact opposite, that works & effort are “fleshly” and like “filthy rags” in God’s eyes. He advises people to work on themselves More than their jobs, to try to become their best version, make the most of their unique gifts and talents and improve their circumstances in life.
It’s interesting how Mr. Rohn’s concept of Jesus and the Bible differs greatly from institutional teachings.
