After the Passover, the Festival of Unleavened Bread begins. Bread is to to be eaten without leavening for seven days. In fact, all leavening is even to be removed from the house. In Hebrew, this festival is called Chag HaMatzot. The more modern Matzah derives from this word Matzot meaning unleavened bread.
“For seven days you must eat unleavened bread. On the first day you are to remove the leaven from our houses.” – Exodus 12:15
Two main meanings behind this are:
- To be a reminder of the haste with which the Israelites had to escape their slavery in Egypt.
- To take a yearly inventory of our Belief Systems and remove any lies or falsities we may have picked up as Yeshuah brings to light here:
“Watch out!” Jesus told them. Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” – Mathew 16:6
What is this leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees? False doctrines, misinformation, disinformation, lies, half-truths, false teachings, oral traditions and Institutional Dogma that override the word of Yahweh!
It’s a great reminder for us to reflect, examine ourselves and our Belief Systems every Year to make sure we are walking in Truth and Light!

Thank you so much Ryan for the calendar of the Holy days. That’s excellent work and invaluable to me and mine. Blessings, brother.
