Guarding Our Inner Circle

Who should Christians allow into their inner circle?

The people we allow closest to us can have a dramatic influence over our lives. Not only does this apply to friends but especially includes family members. There are plenty of stories of people getting caught up in legal trouble, going to prison, failing in school, losing their jobs or failing in business All because they associated with the wrong people.

Vetting our inner circle is essential. Important questions to ask ourselves: Are these people adding positivity, value, faith, growth or helping us in our Christian walk? Or are they bringing drama, toxicity, negativity, sin, vices & temptations? Do they embrace Truth or try to censor it and live in lies & delusion?

Proverbs 13:20 “He who walks with the wise will become wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.” BSB

Proverbs 12:26 “A righteous man is cautious in friendship, but the ways of the wicked lead them astray.” BSB

Ultimately the choice is ours on who we allow into our inner circle and who to block and remove. Blood is Not thicker than water in this case. If family is causing us to sin, fall from the path or sabotaging our success then they should be removed as well. No one is exempt.

Mthw 10:37 “Anyone who loves his father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; Anyone who loves his son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me” BSB
